| Bio: | I'm a single mother of one. He's the greatest thing that I ever did and what I consider my one and only real accomplishment in life. Parenting is the most trying and gratifying experience all at once and I would never give up the opportunity to be one, even if I could go back and redo my life. The only thing I would have done different in that respect, is have my son at age 18 instead of 25. For all the grief people give young parents, it seems the smaller the generation gap, the easier time parents/children have at understanding one another, mostly when older. A child raising a child, I'm sure, is a very trying thing, but if I was able to have what I know now and still do it at 18, damn, how awesome that would be. Maybe then I'd be able to handle the complexity of a PS2. Too many darn buttons for me and he gets uppity because I do it wrong. Patience is definitely something a child is taught and I must be lacking in this area. I will continue to work on it, like I continue to work on every other aspect of being a parent. We have two cats (sisters) and they are oh so sweet but very mischievous, of course. They offer us plenty of love and lots of messes (pushing drinks off tables, etc.) like any normal kitties. Our pet names for them are pussettes and it's rare we call them by the names we gave them, unless we are speaking about them to someone else. I don't own a home and really don't plan on it. I can't see dealing with the aggravation of taking care of one, especially as a single woman. I just don't have the hands-on skills needed for such things. I guess growing up with 3 brothers has spoiled me in that way, since I've never had to fix anything because someone else was always there to do it. That being said, only one out of the 3 is a decent cook and I put them all to shame in that area. My son and I enjoy making different meals and spend quite a bit of time deciding how/what we're going to make. We also enjoy fine dining and make it a point to go to the fanciest restaurants we can afford, as often as we can. Our last great dining experience, that really cost us, was Emeril's at City Walk, Universal Studios, Orlando, FL (March 2005). Expensive but well worth every penny we saved up for it. This will definitely be an on-going topic. I'm an avid movie watcher - classics especially, but I love sci-fi, action/adventure, fantasy, courtroom drama, horror and comedys, no girl flicks though. I'm not into watching stuff to cry. Life can give enough of that. I absolutely adore old Warner Brothers cartoons and could watch them for hours upon end, unfortunately it doesn't seem like any station is currently showing them. Life is a bitch. I have lots of interests but not the means to do them like I wish. I seem to be much more motivated when I have a man in my life. I haven't figured out why but it's the truth. The only thing I don't seem to be unmotivated towards is travel. I try to do as much as I can within my monetary limits and sometimes one year is better than another at allowing that. I honestly believe that showing my son there is more to the world then our little corner of it, will make him a better, well-rounded person. Now if only I could figure out a way to afford a month long stint in Europe, that would be grand. We'll see how this often these dreams come true. I'm currently trying my hand at having plants. My grandmother (God rest her soul) and my mother have two green thumbs and I'm lucky if I got a black pinky out of the deal. But I'm still giving it a shot. This will be an on-going update. I'm a fulltime bookkeeper and really good at it. I seem to excel at numbers keeping and running an office. When I was around 13, a friend and I went to a palm reader. Instead of reading our palms though, she told us what each of our vocations in life would be by the tenders of our fingers. She foretold that I would be a terrific typist and secretary and that my girlfriend would be a nurse. Years later, even though we are no longer friends, that prediction came true for the both of us. It would be interesting to run into her and discuss that day and the fact that we both went into the fields this woman said we would. I don't really put any faith into things like that, but to deny it happened would be ludicrous. I have a good bit of online friends on IRC and enjoy that very much. I've met quite a few them in real life and consider them to be some of my closest friends. Those of you who I hold dear to my heart know who you are and I love you dearly. Being able to make friends, close friends, who are so far away.......well, I just can't describe it enough on how great it is for me. I can only hope you all feel the same way. I must admit, as a girl, I have my moments. PMS, general bitchiness, bouts of a good cry are all par for the course. I guess if I didn't experience these things, I'd be *gasp* A MAN ;) I realize there is no rhyme or reason to the order in which I've stated the above, but who cares? After all this section was to give you a bit of insight into myself and I think I've accomplished that (or at least I hope I did). | ||||
